Good whisky and gin is distilled localism

A large distillery, yet it is designed to nestle within the dense Speyside forest.

Multiple locations were assessed before this building was sited.

Celtic imagery is built in to many elements of the structure in line with the

owner’s interests.

There is a deep history in the fields and woods around this distillery; standing stones in the middle of productive fields, cup and ring marked stones, traces of the Picts and the Celts. This inspired a building which is timeless - combining ancient materials with contemporary features.

This building is part of a circular plan for the estate. Heat is taken from the river and process heat is given to other buildings in a district heating system. Locally grown food is used in the hospitality part of the business. Distillery co-products are reused in local farms.

A hospitality plan includes cook school and masterclasses, a smokehouse and a theatrical location for cask presentations.
